English Literacy Program (ELP) Civics & Citizenship

The English Literacy/Civics & Citizenship Program assists immigrants with limited English proficiency in acquiring the basic skills necessary to navigate governmental, educational, workplace, banking, healthcare, and other key American institutions. Local organizations implementing the initiative are charged with incorporating instruction on the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, naturalization procedures, civic participation, and United States history and government. With the use of effective instructional practices, aspiring and recently sworn citizens will gain the skills and knowledge to become active and informed parents, workers, and community members.

There are 30 Service Delivery Areas (SDA) located throughout Georgia that provide classes in Civics & Citizenship. Locate the SDA most convenient to you.
